The End of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist Letting Agents Actually Use
Deposit deductions are rarely about one dramatic mess. They come from the same short list of overlooked details: grease behind the hob, limescale around the shower screen, dust along skirting boards and marks on paintwork. Inspectors work from the inventory taken on day one, so the aim is simply to return every surface to that condition.
Work top to bottom and leave floors until last, so anything you disturb falls onto a surface you have not yet cleaned.

Before you hand back the keys
Clean once furniture and belongings are out, so surfaces can actually be reached. Take dated photographs of each room when you finish — they are the simplest evidence if a deduction is later proposed.
